Woman fights Macy’s employees while attempting theft

A Bryan woman is in police custody after attempting to steal from a College Station store and getting in fights with employees along the way.

Officers with the College Station Police Department were dispatched to 1500 Harvey Road on Monday afternoon in reference to a shoplifter leaving with property from the Macy’s store.

As the suspect – identified as 29-year-old Tabitha Ambrosia Evans, of Bryan – was attempting leave the store, she was confronted by several employees. Evans began to fight them in an attempt to escape with the property.

While one employee was attempting to restrain Evans, she bit him on the back. Another employee sustained minor injuries to his finger.

Evans then entered a blue Saturn vehicle and attempted to leave the scene. This vehicle was quickly stopped in the parking lot by responding officers.

After an investigation, Evans was placed into custody for robbery since she caused bodily injury while in the commission of a theft. Those injured were treated at the scene and released.

This case has been turned over to College Station PD’s Criminal Investigation Division.
