In honor of the Global Celebration of Storytelling, Baylor University’s Mayborn Museum hosted “The Very Hungry Catepillar Day” as part of their newest Eric Carle exhibit.
During the event, visitors enjoyed a scavenger hunt throughout the museum and the exhibit. This allowed visitors to step into the pages of Carle’s picture books.
Carle is known for his hand-painted tissue collage technique in his children books. This year is the 50th celebration of his book The Very Hungry Catepillar.
“So the reason that we are celebrating The Very Hungry Catepillar Day is our current traveling exhibit is ‘The Very Eric Carle,’ which really invites you to step into the pages of his colorful picture books,” says Rebecca Nall, Mayborn Museum Assistant Director of Exhibits, Communication and Visitor Services.
The exhibit runs until May 12.
