President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that the U.S. is issuing an “emergency order” grounding all Boeing 737 Max 8 and Max 9 airplanes.

The move comes after more than forty other countries grounded the plans over safety concerns because of a crash Sunday in Ethiopia and another crash in October by the same model of plane in Indonesia.

Much of the world, including the entire European Union and Australia, has grounded the Boeing jetliner from their airspace, making the United States one of the last to ground the planes involved in two deadly accidents in just five months.

Canada made a similar move Wednesday morning.
