The Copperas Cove community gathered Saturday to raise awareness about suicide as every year, thousands of teenagers fall into a depression they feel like they can’t escape.

Whether it’s bullying, issues at home or just generally feeling like an outsider, some teens feel there’s no help and sometimes make a decision that there’s no turning back from.

In order to raise support and let others know there is help, Copperas Cove High School DECA members Luke Avritt, Lexy Hollingsworth and Nazhoni Wyss,  and Prevention Along with several other members hosted a Teen Suicide Awareness and Prevention Candlelight Walk at Copperas Cove Ogletree Gap.

Roughly 175 people were in attendance.

There were different stations set up for community members to write message to those lost loved ones.  The walk was concluded with testimonies.

The members hope that this cause touched many and would like to make it bigger and bigger each year.
