The McLennan County Sheriff’s Department says two more horses are dead and another is in critical condition.
This comes after they helped seize over 20 malnourished animals, including horses and calves, from a China Spring home last week.
Deputies say they received a lot of complaints from neighbors saying the homeowners did not take care of their animals. Some were seen with their ribs showing.
During the seizure, deputies located several horses in a nearby pasture eating grass.
The homeowners are not facing any charges at this time, but deputies say it is possible they will face several.
