UPDATE: Two-vehicle accident leads to power outage

The Waco Fire Department responded to a two-car accident, where a person was trapped inside of one of the vehicles.

On Monday night, a minivan hit a pole located at the corner of S. Jack Kultgen Expressway and Irving Lee Street. A Ford Expedition was also involved.

The Expedition was going southbound on the service road when the minivan, driving at a high rate of speed, collided with the Expedition.

When police arrived, they found the driver of the Expedition injured, but walking. He was transported to the hospital.

The Waco Fire Department rescued the driver of the minivan, who was pinned under the dash of the his vehicle. This man was transported to the hospital, as well.

The fire department said on social media that their new eDraulic, battery-operated Jaws of Life tools assisted with the rescue.

Oncor is attempting to restore power to the affected area.
