Aggies Kilkenny Tabbed a Midseason All-American

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M junior right-handed pitcher Mitchell Kilkenny was one of 34 players named to the Midseason Perfect Game/Rawlings College Baseball All-American Teams it was announced Wednesday.

Kilkenny was one of five pitchers named to the Midseason All-American First Team. He enters the weekend one of nine pitchers with a 6-0 record. In seven starts he’s posted a 1.59 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 45.1 innings and is holding opponents to a .199 batting average.

He ranks 40th in the nation in ERA, 47th in WHIP (0.95) and 80th in hits allowed per nine innings (6.35).

With the start of his junior season, Kilkenny has improved his career numbers to 11-3 with seven saves and a 1.59 ERA in 48 appearances, including 13 starts. He has 125 strikeouts in 128.2 innings of work.

Last season, Kilkenny worked mainly out of the bullpen, notching a 3-3 record with a 3.67 ERA and seven saves in 26 outings.
