Waco, TX - The Baylor Baseball got back together for team workouts on Thursday as a team that returns their entire lineup and their weekend rotation from their Big 12 Tournament Championship team from last year.
The Bears finished the season red-hot and they feel like they have set the standard for this coming season.
"It's not momentum, but we see how we played at the end and we definitely know exactly what we're capable of and Omaha's the goal, and to win it all," Junior Andy Thomas said.
Catcher Shea Langeliers is projected to be a top-5 pick in next June's draft but he is just focused on one word and one place, Omaha, Nebraska home of the college World Series.
"It's pretty easy," He said when asked how he handles the attention. "You just focus on the task at hand and the task at hand is to go to Omaha with this team, and that's all i'm thinking about and all we're thinking about for the rest of the year."
Coach Steve Rodriguez knows all about what it takes to get to Omaha and winning the 1992 title and he is starting to see his guys realize they can take Baylor back to the Heartland.
"I talk about it," he said. "Not just this year but ever since I got here, and the realization of it -- I think at the very beginning they thought I was just a crazy guy coming from the west coast. But it has to be a realization and I think they're starting to realize that, now."
The Bears will play a pair of exhibition games this fall against McNeese and Houston Baptist.
