Baylor Football Looking to Cut Down on Missed Tackles

Waco, TX - The Baylor defense is catching their footing under second-year defensive coordinator, Phil Snow.

The Bears say they are getting a much better grasp of the scheme in year two, but Snow feels like their biggest improvement won't need to be in understanding the defense, it will be more about getting the other team on the ground.

"The job of the safeties position is to not let big plays happen, wether it's the run or the pass, it's really their jobs," Snow said. "We've got to eliminate big plays and if we do that we'll play pretty good defense. Last year we'd play 70 plays, 62-63 good then we'd give up some big plays that really changed the game and the statistics so our safeties have to eliminate those and we're working on that."
