Baylor’s football team held their final workout of the spring, at their Annual Green and Gold game on Saturday. The Bears are building on their Texas Bowl win in December, and Matt Rhule is pleased with the team’s progress this in 2019.
“I like the guys attention to detail, we’re still some what of a young minded team, we’re still trying to mature,” Matt Rhule said. “What I mean is, you can’t do what you’re asked to do when it makes sense to you, you also have to do it when it doesn’t make sense to you, you have to be a part of a team.”
Even though Rhule has seen improvements from his team, he knows there’s a lot more work that needs to be done.
“We’re not quite there yet, we’re getting closer and I’m going to have to count on some of the older players to push us over the hump,” Matt Rhule said. “I’ve spent two years trying to explain everything to them, this is why we do this, this is why we do that, it’s time to grow up as a football team, grow up as a program and have a championship mindset.”
