Clifton Baseball Falls in State Championship 5-4 in 10 Innings

Red Rock, Texas - Clifton high school was on the verge of making history, looking to capture the high schools first ever state title.  The Beckville Gators were also striving to make school history, as their high school had also never won a state championship.

In the top of the 6th, Clifton took the lead back 4-3, when Hunter Ringo drove in 2 runs.  In the bottom of the 7th, Beckville tied the game up at 4, scoring from second base on a line drive to the left field corner.  The Gators were able to score the go ahead run in the bottom of the 10th, winning 5-4.

"They're the best group I've ever had, they're so tough, so resilient, and you don't get to the state championship unless you have those attributes..." Brian Slater said.
