Former Highlander, Neuse Making His Presence Felt in Lubbock

Former McLennan Highlander Dylan Neuse was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the week after batting .450 last week for ninth-ranked Texas Tech.

Neuse has made a seamless transition to division one baseball batting .396 in 14 games with the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech Head Coach Tim Tadlock likes the attitude Neuse brings to the ballpark every day.

“He would probably tell you he’s had some bad at bats along the way,” he said. “He’s had some good ones too. Those guys are going to be exciting to watch as we go. They like to prepare, they like to play, they’re aggressive.”

Tadlock recruited Dylan’s brother Sheldon to Oklahoma and he said both posses a high baseball IQ.

“I think as we’ve been around him you can tell he knows the game and pays attention to the game,” he said. “In center field he does a good job of reading bat angles and making adjustments, paying attention to what’s going on.”

Neuse will be back in central Texas, this weekend, when Texas Tech visits Texas for a three game set, in Austin.
