The Lady Bears will hit the road for the second time, this season as they head to Las Vegas for the South Point Shootout.
After seeing a Navajo reservation on their first trip the ladies will go to the other end of the spectrum when they visit the lights of Las Vegas. Head Coach Kim Mulkey is looking forward to taking her team to a place where many of them have never been, but she also wants to see how they handle the distractions that come with that, the week of Thanksgiving.
“That’s a concern, [Their] focus,” she said. “Really I’ve got five new faces, I don’t consider Chloe a new face. Then the competition, it’s not like we’re going out there and not playing anyone. fatigue doesn’t phase me we’ve got enough bodies, top throw out there. Thanksgiving bothers you, because most everybody’s home eating turkey with their families, but for those of us who’ve been in the business a long time you don;t know any different. The freshman it will be an adjustment because they’re used to being at home with their families.”
The Ladies will open the tournament at 9:30pm on Friday night against South Dakota State.
