BELTON, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball player Sam Moore has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week for the week ending November 25th. Moore was recognized for his performance in the Cru’s 107-80 victory over Southwestern University on Saturday.
Moore, a sophomore guard from Nixon-Smiley High School, poured in 22 points and added seven rebounds in the victory. He was 8-11 from the field and hit 4-6 from three-point range. Moore also had two assists and a steal for the Cru.
The Cru improved to 4-0 on the season with Saturday’s victory over the Pirates. UMHB returns to action with a 6:30 pm start against Schreiner University on Monday.
University of Mary Hardin-Baylor women’s basketball player Hannah Holt has been named American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week for the week ending November 25th. Holt was recognized for her play in leading the Cru women to a pair of victories last week.
Holt, a junior guard from Lumberton High School, averaged 16.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game as the Cru posted wins over Texas Wesleyan University and Schreiner University. She shot 57 percent from the field and also had four assists on the week. Holt topped UMHB in scoring in both of the team’s victories last week.
The Cru women are 4-0 on the season. UMHB returns to action with a 6 pm start against Southwestern University on Tuesday.
